First Sprint Distance 8/6/2011
My intention for this sprint distance race was to knock the rust off and have a better idea of what my weaknesses are. Well I found a lot of rust and weaknesses to work on. While DRC Sports put on a fantastic race, I didn't perform well at all. I swallowed salt water four times during the swim, my goggles leaked (because I had the top seal on my swim cap), I forgot my bike water bottle, and my calf locked up on the run. All in all it was the worst race I've ever competed in, including the first one I ever did. The positives are that I had only trained for two weeks and completed it and I know what I need to focus on. The next test will be at the Amelia Man 70.3 in October. That race will be in Fernandina Bch, Fl. Anyone who wants to join me should visit www.drcsports.com for details. Back to training tomorrow!
